Chris has the quality heart that constantly double checks that the standards the office has set for the project are upheld through the design process and the construction. She handles much of the project communication keeping all key parties appropriately informed and coordinated. She also leads the office to incorporate sustainable practices suited to the tropical climate in our design work. Her passion for landscaping also adds a peculiar signature to the work of the firm.

She was registered as an architect with the Ghana Institute of Architects in 1989

Ralph Sutherland

Ralph is an artist-designer with a particular eye for detail. He brings to each project the insight for developing design concepts that seek to grasp and express the Clients particular purpose. His experience in working with real estate and campus projects including infrastructure development teams enables him to play a critical role in the master planning and effective layout planning for utilities, drains and roads for larger schemes. Most of the detailed technical design and coordination of related engineering works is led by him.

He was registered as an architect with the Ghana Institute of Architects in 1983 and made a fellow in 2012 for his long term contribution to training and examining young architects to become professionally qualified.

Work Culture

We love design; both the process of creating the ideas in the complex weave of inter-related specialties and working with the building teams to construct them. Sutherland & Sutherland office values underscore the work culture in which the design process happens.

  • Service with Humility
  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Functionality with Beauty
  • Excellence and Integrity
  • Leadership for Significance

We believe in and encourage continuous communication between all members of the project team. Detailed conversations with clients, in-house design reviews, co-consultant coordination sessions and feedback from contractors provide a clear understanding of the project goals and options. They also improve the efficiency of completing the project close to the client vision and within the set timelines and budgets.

Quality assurance and control systems are continuously being upgraded to maintain the standards of excellence we strive for.
